Toppling Furniture FAQ

The Toppling Furniture Information Standard 2024, effective from 4 May 2025, mandates warning labels and safety information on certain freestanding household furniture to prevent child injuries and fatalities from tip-overs. It applies to tall storage units, entertainment units, and certain tables, excluding second-hand and fixed furniture. Suppliers must provide clear, durable warnings both on the product and at the point of sale. Non-compliance may result in substantial fines, recalls, or enforcement action.
