This checklist aims to assist an employer in the process of performance managing an employee. Performance management should be a constructive process with a fair procedure. The checklist will help an employer to collect the relevant information and evidence in relation to performance issues. 

The checklist steps through what’s necessary in a performance management situation, to collect relevant information and provide a constructive and fair process.

It provides a structured approach to identifying performance concerns, gathering relevant information and evidence, conducting performance discussions, and implementing appropriate support and improvement strategies.

This checklist guides employers through each stage of the performance management process, including preparation, conducting meetings, documenting outcomes, and ongoing follow-up actions. It promotes objective assessment practices, encourages clear communication of performance expectations, and supports procedural fairness throughout the process.

 By using this checklist, employers can help address performance issues professionally and effectively, while supporting employee development, accountability, and workplace productivity. It also assists organisations in maintaining compliance with workplace obligations and best practice performance management procedures.
