Please refer to the Performance Management Checklist for further information and to ensure procedural fairness prior to issuing a warning letter.

Before an employee is given a warning  letter, the employer should give the employee an opportunity to respond to the allegations of unacceptable conduct against them.

** Employees must be given 24 hours’ notice in writing of a formal performance meeting including the offer of a support person to attend.
